What inspired you to pursue a dual career as both a colorist and stylist? I have always viewed hair as a full picture—where color and style go hand-in-hand. Initially, I focused on styling, but I soon discovered my passion for the artistry of color as well. The ability to completely transform someone's entire look, from the cut to the tone, is incredibly fulfilling. It allows me to have greater control over the final outcome and enables me to craft a cohesive, signature look for each client.

How do you stay updated on the latest trends in both hair color and styling techniques? I engage with industry leaders on social media, participate in classes and workshops, and keep myself updated on seasonal fashion and beauty trends. I also enjoy experimenting on mannequin heads and testing new techniques with my loyal clients. Continuous learning is essential in this field, as trends evolve rapidly!

What advice would you give clients on maintaining their color and style between salon visits? Invest in high-quality products that suit your specific hair type and color. Always use heat protection, refrain from washing your hair too frequently, and opt for sulfate-free shampoos if your hair is color-treated. Additionally, don’t hesitate to ask your stylist for a straightforward home care routine—we’re here to help you keep your look fresh!

What is your favorite hairstyle or trend right now, and why do you love it? Currently, I’m loving the trend of “soft layers with curtain bangs” combined with rich, dimensional brunette shades or gentle copper tones. This look is effortlessly stylish, suits a variety of face shapes, and adds movement and personality without requiring much upkeep.

What are some common misconceptions clients have about hair color and styling that you’d like to clarify? One common misconception is that it's possible to transition from black box dye to platinum blonde in a single session—healthy lightening is a gradual process! Another myth is that salon products are merely overpriced versions of drugstore brands. In truth, salon products are specially formulated and are designed to safeguard your investment in your hair.

If you could color/style anyone’s hair, past or present, who would it be and why? I’d love to style Zendaya's hair. She is bold with her fashion choices and continually experiments with different colors, textures, and cuts. Collaborating with someone so versatile would be a creative dream come true.

Who or what influences your dual approach to color and style in your work? I draw inspiration from both timeless fashion icons and contemporary trendsetters. I enjoy merging classic elegance with modern styles — envision Audrey Hepburn intertwined with Hailey Bieber. Additionally, observing how makeup artists utilize color and light significantly influences my approach to hair tones.

If you weren’t a hair stylist, what other profession do you think you’d enjoy and why? I’m likely drawn to a creative profession—perhaps in interior design or fashion styling. I have a passion for working with color, texture, and aesthetics to transform a vision into reality, regardless of the medium used.

What is your favorite hobby outside of work? Beyond my time at the salon, I have a passion for reading and tuning into podcasts, covering topics from personal development to true crime. I also cherish engaging in DIY projects with my kids, as it provides a delightful opportunity for us to bond and unleash our creativity together. This experience keeps me grounded and inspires me in a wonderfully different way.ed and inspired in a totally different way.
